bluff that I like even though he makes a very nice hero call on the river imo. FWIW I'm never value betting worse on the river, and my turn and river betting hands are all straights, sets, and bluffs and I'm not sure that I shove the river with a set of 4s. considering I have the set or straight the vast majority of the time it is pretty much a hero call on the river for him. nice call though.

going 3rd level against a good reg. His hand on the river is always a bluff or a weak Q. I'm shoving because I think he folds most Qx and I don't want to give him a chance to bluff the river and put me in a really tough spot.

this hand I was really pissed about. After he checks back the turn his hand is comprised solely of draws (that missed on the river) and Qx. so on the river I'm always going to check to him because he'll value bet the Qx and bluff the missed draws. But it is such an easy c/r for value and I think there is a decent chance he calls with the top of his range (like AQ and maybe KQ for example) since my line looks so full of it and I'm one of the laggier regs in these games. When I checked the river my first inclination was to c/r relatively small for value, and then I timed down and just didn't think he would call often enough to make it profitable so I chickened out. This was a big mistake and the river value check raise is the kind of play I need to be making to maximize my edge in these games.
